Everytime someone does a ranking of Friday the 13th sequels is wrong. The reason: I have never seen Part VI, Jason Lives, at the top.
Part II comes up a really close second but Jason Lives is the pinnacle of Jason Voorhees films. Jason is now a reanimated, unstoppable corpse, he does not tolerate backtalk or sarcasm (sorry Tony Goldwin), and he is as brutal as ever in 1986's Tom McLoughlin’s entry which has a great balance of laughs and scares.
Horror sequels should strive to Jason Lives' standards of character, gore, and charm.
Happy Friday the 13th!
