Information has been slowly trickling out about David Gordon Green’s untitled Halloween continuation coming in 2018. Now, we know who Michael will be facing ... again.
The official Halloween franchise website confirms the return of Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Myers’ most formidable foe in the new film written by Green and Danny McBride. Considering the return of Curtis’ final girl Laurie Strode, who battled Michael in three movies before succumbing to him in the awful Halloween: Resurrection, the previous rumors of this film being a direct sequel to 1981's Halloween 2 seem to be accurate. That is, of course, unless we’re in store for some meta-movie-making trickery like Wes Craven’s New Nightmare.
Original co-creator John Carpenter is still on board to produce and Carpenter has discussed possibly composing the score. Short of the resurrection of Donald Pleasance, this is the closest we will ever get to a real celluloid Halloween reunion.
While October 31, 2017 is right around the corner, 2018 cannot come soon enough.
