Twister 2 Exists! Only Now It's Called 'Into the Storm'


Considering that Twister was 1996′s second highest grossing film, I have always found the lack of a rushed, blatant studio-cash-in sequel puzzling. Even as the years ticked by, I can't help but think that Bill Paxton, Helen Hunt, and Jami Gertz all had their agents pestering Warner Brothers for a follow-up, even if it in all likelihood would be a soulless reusing of the first's films flimsy structure without any of the accidental charisma that the original had.



But with the untimely passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Hunt seemingly vanishing into the ether that also houses Paul Reiser, a true sequel may be as unlikely as Cary Elwes pulling off a convincing southern accent. But fear not, junior storm-chasers! New Line and the director of Emma Bell's Final Destination have unleashed the pure carnage and destruction that only poorly rendered CGI tornadoes can havok. Six hours ago, I had no clue such a movie existed and now I feel comfortable in the knowledge that Sy-Fy and The Asylum don't have a monopoly on badly rendered disaster films. Even if it blows …
